I spent this past week in the lovely city of Annapolis, which was the first capital of the USA! All the flowers were in bloom and it seemed like the perfect season to be there.
It was inspiring to hear his stories of those early days in trail blazing for what is today gaining momentum as the "Fair Trade Movement", and "Ethical Fashion". After Damian's time in the Peace Corp., he saw the need for offering people jobs, and not just handing out free money and supplies. In 1993 Damian designed the "Roll-Ons" bracelets with the artisans he knew in Nepal and Aid Through Trade was born. The product has always been made with the finest glass beads and after 20 years and a couple of generations making them, they are also the highest quality in the market.
I enjoyed working with some new materials, especially all the colorful beads that are a direct reflection of the vibrant colors of Nepal!
The staff was all so friendly and we shared lots of laughs and talks about the future of A.T.T. There are exciting things coming.
New design will start launching this Fall, and you can look for a whole new Aid Through Trade experience coming in Spring/Summer 2015. I am so thankful to be apart of this project that has pioneered a movement, and bring new designs to the table that I hope you will love.
