It's rare to be able to take a trip with a group of girlfriends. I was so thankful Esther was able to wrangle 8 of us together in one place. This was my first time to Marfa. I had tried once before to go with 3 other friends and we got caught 4 hours into the trip by a snowstorm. We spent the night in a brand new Holiday Inn in the middle of no where Texas. We called that trip "Almost Marfa". This trip was worth the wait. Marfa is a tiny, sleepy town full of small town folk and lots of artists. Thus, stores open when people feel like getting out of bed, if ever.  We explored downtown and met an older gentleman at a coffee shop who told us about Marfa in the olden days.
